Adversity and the Writer

December 1, 2015

Adversity makes a person. Or breaks a person. Adversity builds character, strength, and confidence. When faced with adversity, an individual either gives up or gives in to the challenge. When one overcomes adversity, there won’t be much that person can’t accomplish later on in life. Life becomes easier, or rather more easily conquered.

When adversity comes:  “You gotta be kidding me.”

In the middle of adversity:  “This sucks. Really, really sucks.”

Reflecting after the adversity:  “Damn. I can’t believe I did that.”

The writing journey can bring a lot of adversity.  We gain hands-on experience to produce our content. A good story always has conflict, adversity, and hopefully some type of positive ending, even if it's not necessarily a neatly-tied-up-bow-happy ending.

Adversity is never fun. But it’s also never for nothing.
